Dr Olivia Robinson

Dr Olivia Robinson joined the IOANID team in September 2025, and is teaching English Language and Literature at IGCSE and A-Level.
Although Olivia is new at IOANID School, she is not new to teaching. After graduating with First Class Honours in 1996, she started her career in a Manchester primary school. She was then Head of English in prestigious private schools in Kenya and Mexico, before becoming Deputy Principal of a large London secondary school in 2002. During her varied career, she has written curricula, delivered whole-school staff training, managed heads of subject departments, developed inclusion policies to manage students’ positive attitudes to learning, and introduced procedures for collecting and analysing data about student progress to facilitate programmes of learning support.
She came to Bucharest in 2015 to set up the English Curriculum Centre, where she continues to teach courses as diverse as conversation, business English, accountancy qualifications, TOEFL, and all levels of Cambridge diploma, as well as establishing partnerships with the Swedish Embassy, the National Archive of Romania, and several companies in Bucharest.
Olivia has a Master’s Degree from Brunel University and a PhD in Sociology from University College London. In her spare time, she enjoys acting, has conducted choirs, is a green belt at Tae Kwon Do, and is currently approaching agents in the hope of having a murder mystery novel published.
